As we all know over the years technology has got more and more advanced. Something we all take for granted in everyday life. Just about every sport nowadays has been touched by high tech gadgets in one way or another. Fishing certainly being no exception. From the early Optonic bite alarm, up to the state of the art fish finders such as the Humminbird fish finder.

A lot of Anglers are set in their ways.

A lot of Anglers nowadays are still very set in their ways, and still, see a fish finder as a way of cheating. Others believe it seems to take the enjoyment out of fishing. Preferring to find the fish the ‘proper’ way, by way of a pair of polarised glasses to spot the fish, and a rod and reel to plummet the depth and feel whats happening on the bottom. That’s fair enough, after all, we are all different, and all have our certain ways.

Get an insight into what lays beneath.

But truth be known we live very busy lives nowadays, a lot of us are working class people working long hours. With families to look after and spend time with. Finding time to get to the bank seems almost impossible sometimes. With that in mind, why don’t we ‘cheat’ a little. Why don’t we save ourselves some of that precious fishing time, Especially on larger waters such as reservoirs and large lakes?

With some of the higher end Fishfinders, you can literally map out the whole of your favourite water from above. Giving you an insight into what lurks below such as, snags, deep holes, shelves, submerged weed beds, water temperature and even the fish themselves!

Less time searching, more time Fishing.

Now that in my eyes is very valuable information, and very much welcome when you’re limited to your time on the bank. Less time searching, more time Fishing can only be a good thing.

Never thought this day would come when we would actually be talking about a gizmo for fishing..lol. Technology is definitely leaving no stone unturned in our daily lives.

This is a cool gadget for people that love to know the exact spot to fish from in a body of water. The Humminbird Fiѕhfindеr is awesome as it relies on the sonic wave, this wavelength broadens as you get closer to the fish.

I think Celebs going on shows like Bear Grylls should have one of these to help them catch fishes while starving in the wild.

Regards.

Hi Stuart,

This is just what I need, I really enjoy fishing and I am quite new to it, lately I have been fishing without much success. I feel like its a bit of a waste of time.
The good thing about the hummingbird fish finder is that it doesn’t take the skill away from fishing, it just helps save time. You are quite right about not having much time, i really think this will help bring back the enjoyment of fishing.
Thank you for a great review.

No problem Freddy, I hope it helps.

I love to fish. The fish finder that I used a long time ago did not do a very good job. It didn’t find any fish and we didn’t seem to be able to catch them anyway.

The information that you mentioned here seems to be good. The fishfinder seems to be top of the line. Thanks for breaking it all down and giving me the full scope.

No problem Jerry, thanks for reading it.

Hi Stuart
Gadgets like this will make fishing a different experience. I get a thrill by trying to catch a fish by my own gear, and just waiting. This will not be the same for everybody i’m sure, but i’m old school.
Just like golf, i estimate my distance to the green, i don’t use use fancy gadgets to find the exact distance, down to the inch.
Thanks for the review, but i thought fishing was a ‘get back to nature event’, and not a quick, we must catch a fish and go home event.
Cheers

Cheers Greg, everyones different like I said. Tight lines.
